Overview

As a Solution Architect you will lead architecture decisions for scalable, secure digital solutions on Microsoft technologies, combining technical leadership with client-facing consulting. You’ll translate business goals into concrete designs, guide delivery teams, and shape governance across product, security, data and operations. Responsibilities

  • Lead workshops to clarify business outcomes and non-functional requirements
  • Produce and maintain architecture artefacts (C4 diagrams, ADRs, HLD/LLD, API contracts) for delivery teams
  • Design resilient, secure Azure-based solutions including identity, networking and observability
  • Make pragmatic build-vs-buy and pattern/ service choices with documented trade-offs
  • Support pre-sales and delivery assurance activities including estimates, risks, and SOW contributions
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership to engineers and coach team leads
  • Establish and assure engineering standards for CI/CD, testing, code quality, and security controls
  • Track architecture risks and dependencies and report to senior stakeholders

Key requirements

  • Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale distributed applications
  • Strong Azure cloud architecture experience (AKS, Functions, API Management, Key Vault, App Insights)
  • Solid software engineering background (ideally .NET) and modern integration patterns (REST, messaging, event-driven)
  • Strong security fundamentals (identity and access management, OAuth2/OpenID Connect, secure API design, threat modelling)
  • Ability to translate non-functional requirements into concrete designs
  • Experience producing architecture artefacts and traceable decisions (ADRs, C4, sequence diagrams)
  • Working knowledge of Agile environments and tooling (Azure DevOps/Jira/Confluence, Git, CI/CD)
  • Client-facing consulting experience and ability to lead workshops and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with evidence-based reasoning
  • Clear communicator with ability to simplify complex topics
  • Cross-functional collaboration and governance balancing
