Overview

In this role you will design and standardize building controls for AWS data centers, focusing on BMS/EPMS systems across a global portfolio. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop design standards, specifications, and SOWs that reduce cost and risk while improving reliability and safety. You will lead efforts to innovate in controls and automation, driving consistent execution across Leased/Owned, Build-to-Suit, and Colocation sites. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain expertise in BMS/EPMS, control diagrams, HVAC systems, and electrical concepts
• Create and manage global design standards, CPLs, BODs, and SOWs for projects
• Lead collaboration with construction teams, controls programmers, and engineers to achieve goals
• Oversee vendor selection, bid reviews, MDT approval, and submittal reviews for AWS standards
• Operate in high-security environments, provide data analysis, and participate in on-call rotations
• Drive continuous improvement and standardization across delivery methods (Leased/Owned, Build-to-Suit, Colocation)
• Manage information requests for new builds, existing facilities, and legacy site enhancements
• Support risk identification, escalation management, and project lifecycle activities

Key requirements

• 4+ years in industrial or commercial engineering for mission-critical facilities (data centers, power generation, or related)
• 4+ years engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment
• Understanding of electrical diagrams, control diagrams, building operations, and HVAC systems
• Preferred: Professional Engineer license, regional building codes experience, design-to-deployment experience, ability to read and create construction drawings
