Overview
In this role you will lead high-value, regulated procurement projects to deliver value for money while aligning with public procurement rules and sustainability goals. You’ll work with diverse stakeholders to shape strategies and contracts, supporting SME engagement and the government’s sustainability agenda. The position involves end-to-end procurement delivery and potential people management. You’ll operate within a cross-functional team to help the organisation meet its procurement targets and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities
- Lead development and implementation of procurement strategies for high-value, high-risk procurements to optimise value for money
- Oversee end-to-end public sector procurement process from conception to contract award, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Ensure procurement delivery supports Sustainable Procurement Duty and sustainability agenda
- Develop professional relationships with customers, colleagues and external markets to enable credible strategies and contracts
- Advise on contractual options and supplier performance using market knowledge
- Manage multiple activities and projects concurrently with effective time management
- Support procurement initiatives to meet organizational strategy objectives and monitor commercial targets
- Collaborate flexibly within the team and across the organisation, with potential staff management responsibilities in future
Key requirements
- Proven track record in delivering full end-to-end public procurement cycles (sourcing, tendering, contract and supplier management)
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder management skills
- CIPS Level 5 Advanced Diploma, WCC Advanced Practitioner Certification or relevant equivalent
- Commitment to continuous professional development and accreditation
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of public procurement legislation and relevant policies
