Overview

Lead RF Systems Engineer at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence. You will provide technical leadership across RF system development from concept through demonstrator, shaping multi-disciplinary solutions for radar/electronic warfare domains. You’ll collaborate with antennas, signal processing, firmware and software teams, engage customers, and mentor engineers to deliver coherent system architectures. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership across Sense & Effect development projects from early R&D to technology demonstrators
  • Lead RF system architectures with trade-off analyses balancing performance, cost, time, and risk
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary integration of antennas, RF components, signal processing, electronics, firmware, and software
  • Represent technical solutions to customers and stakeholders through briefings and roadmaps
  • Collaborate with Engineering Manager and Project Manager to align delivery with milestones and quality standards
  • Contribute to development of new RF system concepts and feasibility studies
  • Mentor and inspire engineers to foster technical excellence and continuous improvement

Key requirements

  • Strong background in RF systems engineering, particularly Radar and/or Electronic Warfare
  • Understanding of RF subsystems including antennas, front-end electronics, signal processing chains, and system integration
  • Proven track record of system design, trade-off analysis, and performance modelling
  • Experience turning early-stage concepts into demonstrators or prototypes
  • Excellent communication skills with customer-facing and technical presentation experience
  • Strong collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams or acting as a technical authority
