Air Freight Coordinator

Overview

In this role, you will manage end-to-end air freight shipments, ensuring bookings, documentation, and communication with customers and partners run smoothly. You join an established, solutions-focused operator with a strong international network, contributing to efficient shipment flows and high service standards. You will handle a varied mix of import and export shipments and collaborate closely with the operations team. Responsibilities

• Manage air import and export shipments from booking through to completion
• Prepare and check air freight documentation
• Liaise with customers, airlines, overseas agents and suppliers
• Monitor shipment progress and follow up on delays or missing information
• Respond to customer queries and provide regular shipment updates
• Support quotations, rate requests and booking arrangements
• Check supplier invoices, costs and shipment charges
• Maintain accurate job files and system records
• Resolve operational issues and escalate where necessary
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient operation
• Provide a high level of customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle

Key requirements

• Solid experience within air freight forwarding
• Experience in an Air Freight Operator / Air Freight Coordinator role
• Good knowledge of air freight processes, documentation and terminology
• Experience handling import and/or export shipments
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and competing priorities
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills
• Positive, reliable and proactive approach
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
