Procurement Category Manager – IT/Digital

Overview

In this role you drive strategic IT procurement within a charitable organisation, shaping category strategies and delivering value through cashable savings. You’ll lead procurement and contract management practices across the team and influence stakeholders to maintain high standards. You provide advisory, training, and coaching to raise performance and ensure compliance, including GDPR considerations. The position is hybrid, with regular in-office presence near Aylesbury, and requires strong IT procurement expertise and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• shape IT procurement strategy and category management
• drive transformation and value through cashable savings
• advise, train and coach procurement and contract management teams
• ensure compliant procurement activities (GDPR and internal obligations)
• manage IT systems/services procurements, renewals and extensions
• lead sourcing, tendering, contract specifications and pricing strategies
• promote best practices in contract management across stakeholders
• utilise eProcurement/P2P systems and align with project management principles

Key requirements

• commercially focused procurement professional with IT category experience
• extensive IT procurement management across hardware, software and telecommunications
• strong knowledge of tendering, sourcing options and pricing strategies
• experience with renewals/extensions and GDPR compliance
• proficient in eProcurement/P2P systems and project management concepts
