Business Development Representative, German speaker

Overview

As a Business Development Representative at Proofpoint, you generate qualified sales opportunities for the Commercial team through multi-channel outreach. You’ll work with regional sales and marketing to nurture inbound and outbound leads, gathering intelligence on accounts and mapping decision makers. You will partner with Account Management and Marketing to execute a DACH ABM strategy and drive engagement with prospects. This role offers exposure to cloud-based solutions, Salesforce activity, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-growing cybersecurity company.

Responsibilities

• Qualify and develop inbound and outbound sales accepted leads
• Gather actionable intelligence on target accounts (competition, projects, purchase intent)
• Follow up on marketing-generated leads and convert interest to sales accepted leads
• Manage email campaigns to generate new prospects
• Lead cold-calling campaigns to generate sales prospects
• Maintain accurate CRM records in Salesforce.com
• Schedule product demonstrations between Sales and prospects

Key requirements

• Fluent German and English
• Excellent phone and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Previous experience in goal-driven environments (preferred)
• Experience with cloud-deployable solutions (a plus)
• Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM (a bonus)
