Overview

In this role you will teach electrical installation and fire/security topics to apprentices and adult learners, blending practical labs with theory to build industry-ready skills. You will assess progress, support career development, and foster a safe, professional learning environment. You’ll work with colleagues and industry partners to deliver excellent learner outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Deliver teaching across electrical installation and fire/security programmes
  • Support apprentices and adult learners to achieve qualifications and career goals
  • Conduct assessments, reviews, and progress tracking
  • Develop learners’ technical competence and workplace behaviours
  • Promote professionalism, teamwork, communication, and employability skills
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Maintain high health and safety standards in workshops
  • Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to improve learner outcomes

Key requirements

  • Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Electrical Installation
  • Significant industry experience in electrical installation/building services/related discipline
  • Experience or knowledge of fire alarm and/or electronic security systems
  • Strong practical skills and up-to-date industry knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Genuine passion for developing others and inspiring the next generation of professionals
  • Commitment to inspiring learners in electrical and security professions
  • Desirable: Teaching/training/assessing experience
  • Desirable: Teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one
  • Desirable: Assessor and/or Internal QA qualifications
  • Desirable: Apprenticeship delivery experience
