GCP Cloud Architect

Overview

As a Google Cloud Platform Technical Architect, you will design and deliver modern cloud platforms for enterprise-scale needs, guiding migrations, modernization, and AI-enabled solutions. You’ll lead technical discussions with clients, translating business goals into cloud this and architecture choices, while emphasizing security, governance, and operational efficiency. You’ll help clients adopt AI, including generative AI, and foster automation and AI governance across cloud platforms. This role combines architecture, automation, and hands-on delivery within a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions with clients to design optimal Google Cloud-based solutions
• architect cloud foundations, migration strategies and modernisation plans
• design cloud-native, data-driven and AI-enabled architectures aligned with business needs
• advise on AI adoption, including generative AI, model deployment and monitoring
• champion automation, IaC (Terraform) and DevOps practices across projects
• contribute to cloud migration implementations and remediation of technical debt
• drive operational efficiency, observability, and secure, compliant cloud environments
• work with cross-functional teams on internal innovation and client delivery

Key requirements

• Extensive experience designing and architecting solutions on Google Cloud Platform across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
• Proven experience defining enterprise-scale migrations with diverse strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor, etc)
• Broad hands-on knowledge of core GCP services (compute, containers, storage, networking, security, observability, DevOps, cost management)
• Experience designing landing zones and cloud foundations (IAM, shared VPC, governance, guardrails)
• Experience architecting secure, scalable, highly available environments (on-prem integration)
• Strong experience with containerised solutions, Kubernetes, microservices, and GKE
• Experience deploying IaC with Terraform
• Experience designing AI-ready data platforms for ingestion, storage, governance, analytics, model deployment and integration
• Understanding of generative AI patterns and AI governance, privacy, security and compliance considerations
• Strong analytical and learning ability to adapt to market evolution
• Ability to leverage automation, AIOps and cloud-native tooling to improve reliability and delivery speed
• Excellent English communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements
