Overview

In this role you will drive the Start Well Programme, a major NHS transformation across North Central London to enhance maternity, neonatal and paediatric services. You will plan, coordinate and deliver cross-organisational workstreams, ensuring milestones, scope and quality are met. You’ll work with clinicians, operations and system partners to manage governance, risks and benefits, and to inform senior decision-makers. The role offers the chance to shape service transformation and improve outcomes for women, babies, children and families at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, coordination and delivery of designated programme workstreams to achieve objectives and milestones
  • Develop and maintain programme plans, monitor progress, and manage risks, issues, dependencies and benefits
  • Coordinate governance and prepare reports for programme boards and stakeholders
  • Build relationships with clinical, operational and external stakeholders for collaborative working
  • Analyse complex information to inform decision-making and provide recommendations to senior leaders
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagement activities with tracked actions
  • Support the Programme Director with budget monitoring, procurement, resource planning and financial reporting
  • Maintain accurate programme documentation and ensure governance and information governance compliance
  • Contribute to successful service transformation aligned with objectives, quality standards and best practice

Key requirements

  • Degree level education or equivalent experience
  • Project or programme management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP) or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development (CPD)
  • Understanding of NHS structures and service transformation
  • Knowledge of programme and project management approaches
  • Experience of managing complex projects or workstreams in a multi-stakeholder environment
  • RAID risk, issue and dependency management and programme reporting
  • Experience preparing reports, briefing papers and presentations
  • Experience in service redesign / transformation projects within healthcare or public sector
  • Experience working across organisations (e.g. Trusts, ICBs)
  • Analytical thinking to interpret complex information
  • Planning and organisation across multiple workstreams
  • Stakeholder engagement and presenting complex information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Understanding of governance processes
