Senior Staff Embedded System Test Engineer

Overview

Senior System Test Engineer to own and evolve test strategies, automate validation, and maintain a scalable lab and test infrastructure in Edinburgh. You’ll collaborate with global cross-functional teams to ensure robust pre- and post-silicon testing and production-readiness, shaping test processes to support Cirrus Logic’s high-quality product deliveries. This role combines hands-on debugging with strategic planning in a collaborative, lab-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and translate feature requirements into comprehensive system test plans
• Execute tests across pre-silicon and post-silicon stages
• Lead test strategy, planning, risk management, and status communication
• Own and improve the test management system for scalable coverage and reporting
• Manage and support test hardware setups and lab environment
• Collaborate with software, systems, and cross-functional teams to triage defects and drive resolution
• Represent System Test in technical discussions and reviews

Key requirements

• Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
• Strong embedded systems and RTOS experience
• Proficient in software testing and test automation
• Python scripting proficiency
• Experience with MCU/DSP cores/processors
• Experience developing embedded software tests on development boards
• Experience using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) for bring-up and debugging
