Overview
As a Senior/Principal Process Engineer in AECOM’s Water Solutions team, you will drive the design and delivery of water and wastewater processes for complex programmes like Southern Water’s 4.8bn investment. You will lead technical work across multi-disciplinary teams, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and contribute to project delivery from concept to handover. You’ll solve challenging process-engineering problems and shape sustainable solutions that benefit communities and the environment. This role offers hybrid work and the chance to impact critical water infrastructure at scale.

Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of water and wastewater process solutions
- Produce and review PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances, and technical specs
- Provide technical leadership to solve complex engineering challenges and support delivery
- Participate in HAZOP/HAZID and other process safety reviews
- Prepare process safety documentation including Hazardous Area Classification and LoPA assessments
- Ensure designs comply with regulations, standards, and best practice
- Collaborate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes
Key requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry/Biological Science
- Chartered (or on the path to Chartered)
- Water Industry Experience
