Overview

In this role you will support Murphy’s Western Gas pipeline project as a Section Engineer, guiding civil-engineering execution within a large-energy EPC context. You will work closely with site management and cross-functional teams to solve technical issues, ensure contract compliance, and deliver safe, quality construction. The position offers visibility with senior stakeholders and a clear path to impact energy infrastructure and resilience. You will help shape project delivery through site leadership, inspection, surveys, and environmental management. Responsibilities

  • Resolve technical problems across project levels and support decision-making
  • Carry out inspections per the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)
  • Produce survey data and red-lined drawings for as-built records
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated and compliant with manufacturer requirements
  • Ensure construction activities meet contract requirements using appropriate procedures
  • Provide clear information to site personnel for task execution
  • Supervise outputs and ensure environmental requirements are met
  • Verify materials on site are suitable and stored per specs
  • Assist Site Management with updating KPIs, material reconciliation, and progress reports

Key requirements

  • IEng/CEng experience in large civil engineering projects
  • Experience in Oil or Gas, Substations, or Linear Cables
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with top-level management and clients
  • Solid knowledge of civil engineering legislation, HSE, and environmental legislation
  • Ability to discuss engineering issues across disciplines
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures
  • Surveying and setting-out techniques experience
  • Understanding of Quality, Safety, Health, Environmental and Sustainability project requirements
