Overview
As Principal Product Designer on Teya’s Payments team, you will shape how merchants across Europe accept, reconcile, and manage payments within a secure, compliant ecosystem. You’ll lead end-to-end experiences and define the design language for a strategic product area, while growing a small, ambitious design team. You’ll collaborate with product, engineering, and research to turn ideas into launch-ready solutions, using data and prototyping to drive impact. You’ll work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment that values craft and mentorship.

Responsibilities
- Define and drive the vision for Teya’s payment products to enable seamless payment acceptance and management for small businesses
- Own end-to-end product experiences from concept to launch in collaboration with product, engineering, and research
- Design secure, compliant payment flows that reduce friction and build trust for merchants and customers
- Leverage AI to create smarter, adaptive experiences that optimize payment acceptance and reduce operational complexity
- Understand European merchants’ needs and design solutions that make a real difference in their daily operations
- Bring clarity to complex systems through strong structure, thoughtful design, and exceptional craft
- Use research, data, and rapid prototyping to test, learn, and iterate with purpose
- Help grow the design culture at Teya by raising quality and mentoring others
Key requirements
- 8+ years of Product Design experience
- At least 3 years leading work in complex or regulated environments such as fintech or payments
- Strong portfolio showing UX/UI craft and attention to detail
- Ability to bridge strategy and execution and guide vision while staying close to craft
- Experience collaborating with engineers, researchers, and stakeholders at all levels to ship work
- Curiosity about AI and its potential to make design adaptive and predictive
