Overview

In this role you lead and guide multidisciplinary teams on data centre projects within AECOM’s Urbanism + Planning group. You drive design quality, technical direction, and client satisfaction across large-scale, mission-critical deployments. You’ll partner with sector leads to win work and strengthen AECOM’s market position while mentoring staff and championing sustainable, innovative solutions. This is a client-facing, leadership-rich position with impact across project delivery and growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide project leadership and technical oversight on data centre projects, guiding multidisciplinary teams through complex architectural commissions
• Set clear design direction and collaborate with colleagues to ensure successful outcomes
• Oversee major data centre initiatives to maintain design quality, innovation, and client satisfaction
• Partner with sector leads to win pursuits and deepen client relationships
• Champion design and technical standards by delivering sustainable, innovative solutions
• Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs and mentor staff to elevate studio-wide capability
• Improve business performance through resource allocation, budget and risk management, and contributing to strategic growth of the architecture offering

Key requirements

• Registered Architect with 15+ years of experience and current professional registration
• Extensive data centre sector experience with strong technical knowledge and design considerations
• Proven leadership experience, mentoring and developing high-performing teams
• Strong organisational skills to manage complex, multidisciplinary projects and deliver outcomes
• Strategic mindset to shape and strengthen AECOM’s architectural offering and market position
