Intermediate/Senior Electrical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead electrical building services design across a varied portfolio, from concept to construction, within a collaborative consultancy. You will work closely with clients, contractors and design teams to deliver energy-efficient, compliant solutions. You’ll review calculations and drawings, perform site surveys, and mentor junior engineers, taking increasing project ownership. Responsibilities

• Lead electrical building services designs from concept through to completion
• Produce and review electrical calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Work on lighting, small power, fire alarms, emergency power and related electrical systems
• Carry out site surveys, inspections and project meetings
• Coordinate with mechanical, public health, architectural and structural disciplines
• Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
• Review designs to ensure technical and quality standards
• Take increasing responsibility for projects
• Support senior staff in project delivery

Key requirements

• Several years’ professional experience in electrical building services engineering
• Experience in consultancy, contractor or similar environment
• A relevant electrical engineering qualification
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services design and UK standards
• Experience delivering projects from design through to construction
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; Revit/BIM experience would be advantageous
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines
• Confidence to take ownership of projects and develop junior engineers
• For senior level: experience managing projects and providing technical leadership
