Overview
In this role you lead transport planning efforts for diverse developments in Central London, guiding junior staff and collaborating with clients and planning authorities. You develop multi-modal strategies, conduct feasibility studies, and prepare technical analyses and reports that support design and planning processes. Responsibilities
- Support junior team members and promote collaborative learning
- Develop multi-modal access strategies and design for developments and public sector projects
- Create initial concept / feasibility studies for large masterplan sites
- Perform technical assessments and analyses on transport topics
- Prepare technical notes, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Delivery and Service Plans, and other reports
- Contribute to transport aspects of building and development design
- Attend meetings with clients, architects, and planning authorities
Key requirements
- ≥6 years’ experience in transport planning
- Knowledge of planning system and transport matters (TA, Travel Plans, Environmental Statements)
- Practical knowledge of cycling/walking design standards and highway design guidelines
- Experience with AutoCAD and Autodesk tools (AutoTrack) desirable
- Experience creating robust, visually engaging materials using graphics software
- Strong writing and numeracy skills
- Understanding of pedestrian and highway capacity modelling (PICADY, ARCADY, LinSIG)
- Effective interpersonal communication with team, clients, stakeholders, and contractors
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
