Financial Controller

Overview

In this role, you will act as a key finance partner to senior leadership, delivering financial insight and cashflow control to support profitable growth. You’ll oversee day-to-day financial operations, monthly management accounts, and robust financial controls while collaborating with department heads to embed insights into strategic decisions. You’ll develop scenario models to assess expansion options and drive efficiencies to position the business for its next growth phase. This role offers impact in a market-leading, fast-paced healthcare setting with cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations and monthly management accounts
• Coordinate, analyse and report financial performance to management and board
• Develop and implement financial controls, processes, and procedures
• Collaborate with department heads to embed financial insights into strategic decisions
• Develop scenario models and conduct financial analysis for expansion options
• Identify and drive efficiencies to improve profitability
• Support commercial proposals with key insights, metrics, and data for decision making

Key requirements

• Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Experience in construction preferred
• Strong knowledge of cashflow management, CIS and CVR processes
• Experience of Xero preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel
• People management experience including development reviews
