Project Engineer

Overview

As a Project Engineer in our fire suppression team, you lead installation delivery and ensure high-quality, safe execution across regional projects. You’ll coordinate subcontractors, manage budgets, and maintain strong customer relationships under senior supervision. The role supports growth and performance by driving on-site excellence and standard-compliant installations. You’ll work within a collaborative, safety-focused environment that values process discipline and cross-functional teamwork. Responsibilities

• Lead installation delivery and safety/quality standards
• Manage your own financial work bank and support cost optimization
• Coordinate subcontractors on site
• Monitor defects, scope deviations, and documentation accuracy
• Plan manpower and equipment to meet project timelines and budgets
• Conduct regular safety and quality audits
• Support team development through performance assessments and annual appraisals
• Manage workload to maximize productivity and forecast accuracy
• Prepare reports and programmes for senior management
• Liaise with Credit Control to minimise disputes and support timely invoicing

Key requirements

• Experience in an installation environment
• Proven experience supervising or managing engineering teams
• Strong organisation and communication skills
• Ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
• Full UK driving licence
• Experience with Mechanical Fire Suppression systems
• Ideally 3+ years in the Fire/Sprinkler industry
• Good PC literacy, including Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of LPCB BS12845 and/or NFPA standards (preferred)
