Tunnelling Site and Section Engineers

Overview

As part of the Engineering team on a major civil project, you will support the Agent and Project Managers to help deliver multiple sites. You’ll produce technical reports, supervise site investigations, and coordinate field operations to the programme. You will set out survey work, liaise with consultants and subcontractors, and ensure safety and material testing are in line with project goals. This role offers hands-on experience on a high-value tunneling/railworth heavy civils project with a Tier 1 contractor, driving on-site quality and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Producing detailed reports and providing technical information
• Coordinating and supervising site investigation works and planning
• Surveying and setting out
• Scheduling materials for ordering
• Organising site operations in accordance with the programme
• Liaising with consultants and subcontractors
• Monitoring the work of site operatives and subcontractors
• Ensuring adherence to health and safety requirements
• Arranging testing of materials
• Resolving technical problems that may arise

Key requirements

• Tunneling, TBM and/or Shaft project experience with a contractor
• Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering
• Experience on heavy civils projects in Rail, Civils, Highways or Power sectors
• HNC / HND or degree in Civil Engineering, Mining or Tunneling (advantageous)
