Overview
In this role you help ensure safety and reliability in aero engine systems by analysing design concepts, identifying hazards, and developing mitigation strategies. You will work within a global defense team to ensure standards are met and risk is understood and managed. The position offers hybrid working and the chance to contribute to mission-critical power systems for military applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive robust safety cases and improvements.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate design concepts to identify potential failures and hazards and define hazard mitigation strategies
- Assess component designs for failure modes and effects and criticality (e.g., FMECA)
- Identify critical parts and systems through risk analyses
- Perform numerical risk analyses using deterministic and probabilistic methods
- Analyse human–system interactions including Human Factors
- Produce Safety Case reports
- Operate FRACAS (Failure Reporting, Analysis & Corrective Action System)
Key requirements
- Degree level in a STEM subject with experience in a relevant engineering environment (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical or Controls)
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Analytical and logical approach
