Technical Manager – Electrical

Overview

As Technical Manager – Electrical you will lead technical discussions and steer the design process from pre-construction through handover. You will manage technical delivery, resolve complex design issues, and ensure regulatory compliance while keeping cost-effectiveness and quality at the forefront. You will drive cross-discipline collaboration with internal and external designers and be fluent in LV/MV power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security/CCTV, earthing, and lightning protection. This role combines design leadership with project delivery in a contractor environment, offering impact on project outcomes and technical standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage technical discussions across projects
• Oversee the design process from pre-construction to handover
• Manage technical aspects and resolve design issues
• Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain cost-effectiveness
• Coordinate cross-discipline collaboration with internal/external designers
• Be conversant with LV and MV power distribution, small power, earthing, lighting design, fire alarm design, security and CCTV, and lightning protection systems

Key requirements

• Proven experience in Electrical Design Engineering within building services and construction
• Strong track record in senior project delivery
• Proficiency in design and engineering analysis software and production of specifications
• Solid understanding of design and build construction contracts
