Project Engineer – Smart Buildings

Overview

In this role you will lead the delivery of BMS projects from planning to handover, ensuring safety, timeliness and budget alignment. You will collaborate with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to drive project success and optimise building controls performance. You will commission BMS hardware/software, resolve technical issues and maintain high-quality documentation. The role supports SSE Smart Buildings’ mission to advance sustainable building operations and energy efficiency. Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of small to medium BMS projects from planning to handover
• Coordinate project activities with clients, subcontractors and internal teams
• Commission BMS hardware and software including testing and optimisation
• Identify and resolve technical and project issues while safeguarding quality and client satisfaction
• Produce and maintain project documentation (progress reports, commissioning records, as-fitted info, handover documents)
• Support on-site progress and ensure safety and compliance throughout the project lifecycle

Key requirements

• Good technical experience in Siemens, Trend, Distech or Tridium BEMS/HVAC Building Controls
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders
• Strong customer service orientation and professional approach
• Agile working approach with on-call flexibility
• Full driving licence for site travel
