Overview

In this role you will provide medical leadership across Willow Ward and the Open Mental Health Rehabilitation Team, guiding a county-wide rehabilitation service. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to expand community-focused care and support the Trust’s strategic goals. You will engage in on-call duties within the MHA framework and contribute to clinical governance and service development. Responsibilities

  • Provide medical leadership to Willow Ward and the Open Mental Health Rehabilitation Team
  • Maintain AC/RC responsibilities for community patients under MHA
  • Collaborate with senior clinical colleagues to define roles, objectives and responsibilities
  • Ensure effective communication within and outside the team and timely information exchange
  • Coordinate patient care across teams and ensure proper risk management systems
  • Monitor and improve team performance and quality through governance initiatives
  • Contribute to service and business planning at locality and Trust level
  • Undertake administrative duties and accurate clinical activity recording
  • Participate in annual appraisals and internal CPD programmes
  • Maintain GMC registration and MHA Section 12(2) approval, and compliance with professional codes
  • Engage in job plan reviews and collaborate with local managers on service development
  • Support financial management and adherence to Trust policies

Key requirements

  • Depth and breadth of clinical experience
  • Ability to lead and develop the service
  • Provision of non-residential on-call cover (with internal support)
  • Competence to work without direct supervision where appropriate
  • Analytical thinking and evidence-based decision making
  • Full GMC Registration and license to practice
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT
  • Current UK professional registration and eligibility for Skilled Worker sponsorship
