Security Operations Analyst

Overview

In this contract role, you will monitor and analyse the cyber threat landscape to identify risks and guide security actions. You will work within a cybersecurity programme that supports critical enterprise and government-facing environments, collaborating with SOC teams, threat intelligence, and security architects. You’ll produce actionable intelligence, contribute to threat modelling, and help strengthen controls and incident response. The position is largely remote with occasional client-site visits and requires active security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security incidents
• Support threat detection, investigation, and analysis within security operations
• Collect and interpret threat intelligence from multiple sources
• Identify emerging threats, attacker TTPs and techniques
• Produce intelligence reports and actionable recommendations
• Conduct threat modelling exercises to identify attack vectors
• Contribute to security strategy with risk insights
• Collaborate with security teams to improve detection, response and mitigation
• Assist in incident investigations and response activities
• Help develop and enhance security controls and procedures
• Communicate cyber risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Support continuous improvement across security operations and threat management

Key requirements

• Proven experience in a Security Operations Analyst, SOC Analyst, or similar cybersecurity role
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and threat landscapes
• Hands-on Cyber Threat Intelligence analysis and reporting experience
• Experience with threat modelling and risk assessments
• Knowledge of TTPs and MITRE ATT&CK / Cyber Kill Chain
• Experience investigating security events and supporting incident response
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Experience in enterprise-scale or highly regulated environments
