Mechanical Commissioning Engineer – Nuclear

Overview

In this role you will support the HPC commissioning effort by delivering and validating test activities and safety documentation. You will plan, review contractor documents, and supervise or perform commissioning tests to confirm readiness for commercial operation. Based at Bridgwater, you’ll work with the HPC project team to ensure on-time delivery of commissioning deliverables while upholding safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop commissioning documentation and review contractor-produced materials for commissioning tests
• Plan and own a programme of tests for HPC commissioning
• Lead or participate in site commissioning activities and supervise contractor personnel where needed
• Provide information to support achievement of project milestones and objectives
• Analyze commissioning results and report outcomes of tests
• Support contract partners and participate in contractual review and acceptance activities

Key requirements

• HNC in Engineering (or equivalent)
• Degree qualified desirable
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical & process systems
• Experience with auxiliary steam systems
• Strong technical engineering skills
• Good problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication skills to convey complex information
• Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with contractors
