Overview
As Site Supervisor for Hitachi Energy’s Grid Integration projects in the UK, you will lead on-site activities to ensure cost-efficient, safe, and quality-focused delivery across start-up, construction, erection, commissioning, and maintenance phases. You’ll coordinate with customers and subcontractors, manage resources and risk, and act as the on-site project representative. Your role supports Hitachi Energy’s mission to enable a sustainable energy future by delivering reliable grid solutions. You will work within a collaborative, safety-driven environment and have a clear impact on project outcomes and stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities
- Plan on-site activities with the Site Manager, allocating resources, equipment, and milestones
- Coordinate construction targets with customers and external resources, ensuring site safety and policy compliance
- Oversee site activities from area handover to completion, aligning with contract specs, quality, schedule, and safety
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and local stakeholders as the project representative on site
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and installation of equipment to avoid damage
- Maintain RAMS for each work package and align with the health and safety plan
- Ensure on-site resources are trained and promote health and safety among partners
- Monitor project costs against forecasts and estimate final costs
- Keep documentation updated and manage subcontractors to meet delivery dates and standards
- Provide regular reports on site activities, HSE, quality, progress, and cost
Key requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in construction and/or installation
- Good understanding of transmission regulations and current HSE legislation
- Proven leadership with collaborative, solutions-oriented communication
- Proactive and flexible personality
- Scottish power authorised
- Bachelor’s in electrical/mechanical engineering, or equivalent skills
