Overview

In this role you will manage a diverse caseload in education law within a Public Law & Human Rights team, handling matters from SEND Tribunal appeals to safeguarding and EHCP strategy. You will advise schools, local authorities, and education charities, while supervising junior colleagues and delivering training. The position offers a meaningful mix of privately and publicly funded work and the opportunity to drive justice for vulnerable clients. Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of complex education matters including SEND Tribunal appeals
  • Advise on school admissions, exclusions, disability discrimination, and safeguarding
  • Handle complaints against local authorities and schools; conduct Judicial Reviews & UTT appeals
  • Provide EHCP health checks and SEN strategy advice; engage with community care linked to education
  • Supervise junior colleagues and review case files; develop client relationships
  • Create and deliver training, seminars, and articles to share expertise
  • Work with a mix of privately and publicly funded cases

Key requirements

  • Solid experience in education law
  • Public law knowledge is advantageous
