Overview

In this role you will own and maintain Gymshark’s iOS app, delivering robust features at scale. You’ll work across SwiftUI and UIKit while migrating toward modular, clean architecture and MVVM. You’ll write tests from the start, diagnose production issues, and consider performance, accessibility, and app size as you ship. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate product work into observable, high-quality releases. This is a chance to shape the customer shopping experience on a global consumer app.

Responsibilities

  • Develop production Swift (SwiftUI preferred, UIKit present) with a focus on modular code and clear boundaries
  • Apply Clean Architecture and MVVM; justify design decisions and PR boundaries
  • Write unit tests and create test doubles; contribute to test-first practices
  • Use Swift concurrency to prevent data races and raise issues when needed
  • Diagnose and root-cause production issues from crash reports and analytics
  • Consider performance, accessibility, and app size during implementation
  • Understand the code path post-merge (CI, review, distribution, App Store submission) and manage common failure points
  • Maintain consistent branching strategy and straightforward PRs for review
  • Raise design specifications that align with Human Interface Guidelines and assess third-party SDK risks
  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies; help Product Owners refine stories and deliver incremental value
  • Explain technical work to non-technical stakeholders; identify risks early
  • Document solutions clearly for reuse by others
  • Collaborate with adjacent teams and share learnings through appropriate channels

Key requirements

  • Several years of Swift production app experience
  • Live SwiftUI work in App Store production
  • Experience collaborating in an established codebase with other engineers
  • Routine unit testing of own production code
  • Experience resolving a production issue
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration
  • Active listening and questions to elicit input
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Swift (production apps)
  • SwiftUI and UIKit knowledge (UIKit to SwiftUI migration)
