Project Engineer

Overview

In this role, you will drive capital projects at Ipsen Wrexham from concept to completion, ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance. You’ll work with internal teams, contractors and suppliers to deliver gains in cost, schedule and performance. The position sits within the Capital Projects team and supports the site transformation with a mix of technical and project management responsibilities. Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering projects and work packages through the full lifecycle
• Develop and maintain plans, schedules, budgets and progress reports
• Monitor performance against objectives and milestones
• Support governance processes, risks, issues and opportunities
• Contribute to business cases and capital expenditure proposals
• Provide technical input and feasibility assessments during development and execution
• Participate in design reviews from concept to detailed design
• Prepare/review engineering documentation (URS/Tech Specs)
• Ensure activities comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate testing activities including FAT/SAT and commissioning/handovers
• Promote safety culture and support change control and risk assessments
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, validation and EHS teams
• Identify opportunities for process and systems improvements
• Support problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives

Key requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Experience delivering projects in a regulated manufacturing environment
• Understanding of project management: scope, cost, quality and schedule
• Knowledge of engineering design and project execution processes
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage priorities across multiple teams
