Overview
In this role you will coordinate and supervise EQUANS maintenance services for the Leeds Oncology Wing, aligning with the maintenance specification and safety standards. You will lead directly employed technicians and coordinate specialist subcontractors to deliver reliable plant, equipment, and building fabric maintenance. You’ll drive performance against targets, contribute to a strong safety culture, and mentor staff through toolbox talks and training. This role offers a hands-on leadership position within a healthcare facility on a 40-hour-week schedule with competitive benefits.

Responsibilities
- Act as hands-on front-line manager for trades staff
- Provide technical engineering support to trade staff
- Supervise maintenance of plant, equipment and building fabric through in-house and external teams
- Allocate and monitor tasks to meet standards and efficiency
- Requisition materials and services as needed
- Coordinate reactive and planned maintenance by priority
- Implement and use planned preventive maintenance (PPM) with CAFM
- Uphold safe working practices per applicable guidelines
- Instruct and coordinate toolbox talks for staff
- Participate in company permit to work system
- Set objectives and appraise staff per policy
- Assist with evaluating training and staff competency
- Participate in emergency on-call rota
- Manage relationships with stakeholders to improve service perception
- Be willing to undertake relevant training to evolve the role
- Achieve Authorised Person status in relevant disciplines
- Perform other duties as required
Key requirements
- 3 years post-qualification experience
- Experience in operations and maintenance of buildings, plant, services and equipment
- Experience in risk management and health & safety
- Understanding of major plant and systems (steam/condense, HVAC, LV, fire alarm, BMS)
- Healthcare maintenance experience
- Multiskilled maintenance background
- Experience managing a labour force
- Good communication and customer care skills
- Proactive problem solving and initiative
- Flexible and willing to work out of hours and travel to other sites
