Overview

As a Programme Manager at Springer Nature Technology, you lead large, strategic initiatives from concept to delivery, shaping the enterprise-wide project portfolio. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive digital customer-facing applications, internal systems, and governance programmes that enable efficiency and value delivery. You’ll manage risks, align with business objectives, and communicate clearly with stakeholders across the globe. This role offers the chance to influence how technology and business strategy converge to drive measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Start, shape, and deliver programmes and projects within time, budget, and quality targets
  • Define objectives, scope, success criteria, and deliverables for initiatives
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues; monitor resource use and capacity
  • Coordinate with vendors, partners, and internal teams to ensure robust solutions
  • Conduct RFI/RFP activities to select appropriate third-party solutions
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and provide regular status updates
  • Support change management and communication planning across global teams
  • Encourage process improvements and business-oriented solutions through proactive collaboration
  • Set up work with sponsors to define requirements and constraints

Key requirements

  • Extensive programme and project management experience in a global environment
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and create artefacts and roadmaps
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills; capable of working in a multi-methodology environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence at all levels
  • Experience communicating technical opportunities to non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaboration with multi-discipline teams (Developers, UX, BA, QA)
  • Knowledge of organizational change management techniques
  • Fluent English written and spoken; comfortable presenting to executives
  • Experience with risk and issue management and governance processes
  • Experience with Programme Planning tools and roadmaps; OKR experience is a plus
