Overview

As Delivery Lead for Data Centre initiatives, you will oversee the design leadership and delivery for a global portfolio, guiding large, multi‑disciplinary teams to meet quality, schedule, and budget targets. You will influence the direction of AECOM’s data centre delivery capability at a senior level and maintain strong executive‑level client relationships across regions. The role demands technical excellence, commercial acumen, and proactive issue resolution to ensure safe, on‑time, and on‑budget project delivery. You’ll work within a cross‑regional team, enabling localisation and permitting while aligning with global design resources.

Responsibilities

  • Lead UK & Ireland Data Centre delivery organisation and develop a 100+ professional team
  • Oversee end‑to‑end design and delivery of multiple Data Centre projects across the UK, Europe and globally
  • Steer a portfolio of projects from delivery, technical and commercial perspectives
  • Act as senior delivery and escalation lead for high‑profile clients at executive/director level
  • Provide technical, commercial and operational leadership across programmes to ensure safety, schedule, cost and quality
  • Coordinate bids and supplier requests for cross‑discipline collaboration
  • Chair strategic meetings, conduct financial reviews, and report metrics to senior leadership
  • Manage resource allocation and proactively resolve technical issues across deliverables

Key requirements

  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent with strong data centre background
  • Proven experience leading large multi‑disciplinary delivery teams and complex programmes
  • Confident communicator capable of director‑level client interactions
  • Commercially savvy with experience managing risk, governance, and profitability
  • Willingness to travel across UK&I and Europe
  • In-depth understanding of building systems, regulations, contracts, and construction types
  • Familiarity with Revit, Microsoft Office, and collaborative digital platforms
  • Strong knowledge of design workflows and managing fast‑paced project environments
  • Valid driving licence and ability to manage competing priorities
