Overview

As Utilities Site Engineer for Skanska’s HS2 Main Works South project, you will coordinate site activities and plan works to deliver safe, efficient construction. You’ll work with subcontractors to prepare and implement risk assessments, ITPs, permits and consents, while ensuring safe methods of work and timely quality checks. You’ll collaborate with the HS2 team and other packages to meet project goals, and manage supply chains to uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards. This role offers a pivotal place in delivering one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure programs and shaping connected communities.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day site coordination and planning to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Coordinate with subcontractors on Risk Assessments, Method Statements, ITPs, permits and consents
  • Liaise with Construction Manager to ensure safe methods of work
  • Identify and manage temporary works requirements per procedures
  • Carry out quality checks per ITPs and record results
  • Collaborate with HS2 team and other contractors to achieve project goals
  • Manage supplier / subcontractor performance to meet Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements

Key requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in Civil / Environmental engineering or similar
  • Prior experience in Civil engineering / Infrastructure projects
  • Relevant CSCS Card
  • Proven proactive, collaborative relationship with Customer teams
  • Ability to establish and lead a safety-first culture with a track record of delivering projects safely
