Senior UAV Design Engineer

Overview

In this Senior UAV Design Engineer role you will own the design lifecycle for unmanned aerial systems, from concept through low-volume production. You will lead technical direction across mechanical, electronic, and systems integration workstreams, while mentoring engineers and making key trade-off decisions. The position blends advanced mechanical design with hands-on hardware integration to shape the next generation of aerospace tech. You’ll operate in a fast-paced, autonomous environment, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance airframes and payload structures.

Responsibilities

• Take design authority for UAV platforms and set technical direction across mechanical, electronic, and systems integration workstreams
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level design engineers, reviewing work and supporting development
• Own key design decisions and trade-offs related to performance, manufacturability, weight, cost, and timescales
• Design and own high-performance UAV airframes and payload structures using Fusion 360
• Develop and review CAD models and production-ready drawings while maintaining design standards across the team
