Overview
In this Clinical Assurance Manager role, you drive quality governance, clinical assurance and improvement across the Trust. You will partner with senior clinical and operational leaders to shape audit programs, assurance processes and improvement initiatives that enhance patient safety. You’ll coordinate national audits and contribute to Board-level assurance and reporting. The role offers significant impact on care quality, governance and service development within an NHS Foundation Trust.

Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Trust-wide clinical audit and assurance projects
- Support development and delivery of improvement programmes from audit findings
- Provide expert advice on audit design, methodology, data analysis and reporting
- Coordinate participation in national clinical audits and assurance programmes
- Support accreditation programmes and quality assessments across services
- Produce high-quality reports for senior leaders and Board assurance
- Collaborate with clinical teams, governance leads and senior managers to improve quality and safety
- Supervise and support the Clinical Assurance Specialist and junior team members
- Deliver training and guidance on clinical audit, assurance and quality improvement methodologies
Key requirements
- Extensive NHS experience
- Significant experience of undertaking and coordinating clinical audit, assurance projects or research activity
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to influence and work effectively with senior clinicians and managers
- Experience of analysing, interpreting and presenting complex information and data
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders
- Independent working and prioritisation
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of audit or governance systems
