Overview
In this role you will support a Bristol-based accountancy practice by handling statutory accounts, tax, VAT, bookkeeping and advisory work for a varied client base. You will manage work against budgets, supervise junior staff, and build strong client relationships, with hybrid working and clear progression. You will work with SMEs, owner-managed businesses and corporate clients, contributing to commercial insight and financial stewardship. Responsibilities
- Prepare year-end statutory accounts
- Prepare corporation tax and personal tax computations
- Prepare and review VAT returns
- Produce management accounts, forecasts and financial projections
- Complete bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
- Analyse financial information and provide commercial insight
- Manage client work against budgets and deadlines
- Build strong, long-term client relationships
- Liaise with HMRC and other professional advisers
- Support and supervise junior team members
Key requirements
- AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified or studying
- Previous accountancy practice experience
- Strong accounts preparation experience
- Good knowledge of UK accounts and tax
- Experience with VAT and bookkeeping
- Strong Excel and accounting software skills
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
