Golang Lead Engineer

Overview

As Golang Lead Engineer, you will steer the design, build and operation of backend Go services that are secure, scalable and observable. You’ll lead technical delivery within Software Engineering and shape the Group’s Mobile Security Core and backend capabilities. Expect hands-on coding coupled with technical leadership across delivery teams, driving engineering excellence and robust deployments. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate requirements into practical solutions, mentoring engineers along the way. Responsibilities

• Lead the design, build, release and support of complex backend services and shared platform capabilities
• Drive engineering quality through code reviews, reusable patterns and modern software practices
• Build resilient, observable and secure services for production environments
• Partner with Product Owners, Architects, Engineers, SREs and Security specialists to translate requirements into solutions
• Mentor engineers, support capability growth and contribute to engineering communities and standards
• Champion automation, operational excellence, reliability, secure coding and continuous improvement

Key requirements

• Strong software engineering experience with production-grade Go backends
• Experience designing and delivering microservices, APIs, integrations and distributed systems
• Strong DevOps capability with CI/CD, automated testing, release practices and production support
• Experience building and operating containerised services with Kubernetes and Docker
• Strong leadership and coaching skills, mentoring engineers and guiding technical decisions
• Excellent critical thinking, decision making and stakeholder collaboration, with ability to communicate trade-offs
