Overview

As Director of BSR Principal Design, you will own and grow a new service line within a modern construction consultancy. You lead technical direction, client engagement and commercial growth, shaping the strategy and building a high-performing team. Expect to influence business direction, establish best practices, and mentor future leaders while working with senior stakeholders. This role offers autonomy, cross-functional impact, and clear progression in a fast-growing practice.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the BSR Principal Designer service line
  • Build and grow a high-performing team
  • Develop and maintain senior client relationships
  • Drive business development and identify new opportunities
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic advice
  • Develop processes, standards and best practice
  • Collaborate with wider leadership to integrate BSR services across the consultancy
  • Mentor and develop future leaders within the division

Key requirements

  • BSc in Construction related degree or Chartered Architect qualified
  • Client-facing, credible and commercially minded
  • Technically strong with extensive BSR/Principal Designer knowledge
  • Comfortable operating at Director and senior stakeholder level
  • Confident winning work and developing client relationships
  • Strong communicator and engaging personality
  • Experienced in leading people, teams or service lines
