Senior Product Designer

Overview

In this Senior Product Designer role, you will own end-to-end design for the SumUp Pay experience within the Consumer Bank squad, driving activation, engagement and retention. You’ll lead discovery with product and engineering, shape user journeys, and iterate based on user research and data. You’ll evolve the design system while ensuring consistent, high-quality mobile experiences in a fast-moving, product-driven environment. This is a global, cross-functional role with real impact on growth and user adoption in Europe.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end product design from discovery through delivery for the SumUp Pay experience
• Lead discovery by identifying problems, defining opportunities, and shaping hypotheses with Product and Engineering
• Design intuitive mobile experiences that drive activation, engagement, and retention
• Create and iterate on user journeys across onboarding and activation flows
• Validate solutions through prototyping, user research, and usability testing
• Use data to continuously improve the product and inform design decisions
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure high-quality implementation and scalability
• Contribute to the design system and maintain consistency across the product

Key requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Product Designer on mobile-first products with a strong portfolio
• Strong discovery skills including problem framing, hypothesis definition, user research, and insight synthesis
• Excellent UX, interaction, and information design with emphasis on usability
• Experience using data (qualitative and quantitative) to inform design decisions
• Strong collaboration and autonomous work in cross-functional teams with PMs and Engineers
• Solid understanding of technical constraints and how to design within them
• Proven ability to leverage AI design tools for ideation, prototyping, research and synthesis
• Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g. Figma) and experience with design systems
• Pragmatic, outcome-driven mindset with ability to influence product direction
