Overview
In this senior IC role, you will shape Gartner’s positions on the economics of AI and technology disruption, collaborating with modeling, data science and data engineering teams. You’ll synthesize diverse data sources and economic evidence to deliver defensible market perspectives and thought leadership. Your work informs executives, industry narratives, and research agendas, with opportunities to present at events, engage clients, and influence Gartner’s research direction. You will be a recognized authority who connects signals into market-shaping insights.

Responsibilities
- Develop differentiated Gartner positions on the economic impact of AI and technology disruption across markets, business models and value chains
- Translate emerging signals into market-shaping research and thought leadership in collaboration with the Modelling team
- Synthesize economics, quantitative evidence, novel data sources and domain expertise into differentiated Gartner perspectives
- Create insights capable of influencing executive decisions, industry narratives and market conversations
- Shape the evolution of Tech Market Economics by identifying key market opportunities and questions to address
- Provide provocative, independent insights to Gartner leaders to influence research agendas
- Develop innovative, highly leveraged “must-have insights” content
- Offer actionable approaches to client needs and requests to accelerate client action
- Deliver high-value presentations for Gartner conferences, events, media engagements and client briefings
- Support sales and business development through differentiated market insights and executive engagement
- Provide high-quality content for peer review
- Build credibility as a recognized authority on Tech Market Economics and represent Gartner insights and methodology
- Participate in innovation, ideation and research discussions and collaborate with peers across Gartner
- Mentor and coach junior team members
- Maintain a client-centric approach focused on actionable insights and client value
Key requirements
- Experience assessing economic, commercial and competitive implications of Agentic AI disruption across markets, products, business models or value chains
- Ability to synthesize economic analysis, quantitative evidence, financial statements, market intelligence and business context into differentiated research and strategic recommendations
- Proven skill in identifying emerging economic and market shifts and translating evidence into executive-level narratives
- Strong judgment in evaluating signals and evidence to determine decision-grade conclusions
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; graduate degree preferred
- 10+ years of relevant field experience
- Executive presence and credibility with executives and stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellence in research and writing, and strong analytical and presentation skills
- Proficient at analyzing and synthesizing data and applying frameworks to client challenges
- Strong communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts concisely
- Subject matter expertise and experience presenting at various speaking engagements
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Deep knowledge of global competitive landscape and market dynamics
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural global team
- Learning agility and ability to navigate matrixed environments
- Ability to represent Gartner’s research methodology effectively
