Overview
In this role you will lead the industrialisation of new aerospace products from concept to production readiness, ensuring designs are manufacturable, cost-effective and compliant with aerospace standards. You will collaborate with design, operations, supply chain and quality to deliver smooth product launches that meet cost, schedule and performance goals. The position sits within Eaton’s Manufacturing Engineering Team at the Titchfield site, supporting all operations. You’ll tackle complex manufacturing challenges and drive process excellence to enable scalable, reliable production.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end NPI activities using gated frameworks (MRL, PPAP, AS9145, ProLaunch)
- Develop and execute manufacturing plans, readiness reviews and standard operating procedures
- Drive Design for Manufacturability & Assembly (DFMEA/PFMEA) reviews with engineering
- Define production process flow, routings and required tooling/fixturing
- Support prototype builds, engineering trials and qualification runs
- Create additive manufactured tooling and Poka Yoke fixturing using CAD
- Develop detailed manufacturing work instructions and build documentation
- Perform tolerance analysis, process capability studies and PFMEA risk assessments
- Identify automation opportunities and process optimization for cost reduction
- Specify and validate manufacturing equipment, gauges and special processes
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why, DMAIC
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP) and internal specs
- Support qualification testing, certification activities and production readiness reviews
- Collaborate with design, supply chain and operations to ensure manufacturability and smooth handover from development to production
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (preferred)
- Experience in aerospace or a similarly regulated mechanical manufacturing environment
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments
- Detail-oriented with a passion for process excellence
- NPI project experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes: assembly/integration, fuel systems
- Experience with special processes (heat treatment, surface finishing, part marking)
