Overview

In this role, you lead data and information risk management within a Sky Data domain, partnering with cross-functional teams to embed controls and frameworks. You drive risk assessment, monitoring and assurance, with a focus on AI governance and regulatory compliance. You influence senior stakeholders to sustain a proactive risk culture and enable Sky’s data ambitions across its platforms and regions. Responsibilities

  • Lead data & information risk management within a defined business domain (Consumer, Content, or Group Functions) and partner with other DIROs.
  • Identify and mitigate data lifecycle risks (collection, processing, sharing, retention, disposal) and AI-use case risks through controls.
  • Design, embed and monitor risk management frameworks across Sky.
  • Provide assurance on data and information controls with System Owners, Data Owners and Stewards.
  • Collaborate with Legal, DPO, Compliance and Group Technology to align risk best practices.
  • Monitor and report on control effectiveness and risk burn-down to governance forums and senior sponsors.
  • Promote data & information risk awareness and stay updated on market trends and AI-related risks.

Key requirements

  • Strong data risk and regulatory expertise (data protection, privacy, information security, AI regulations) and ability to translate requirements into practical controls.
  • Experience designing, implementing and monitoring risk and control frameworks (e.g., three lines model).
  • Strategic data risk and technical acumen across cloud data platforms, AI/ML and data sharing.
  • Proven business partnering and senior stakeholder influence in matrix organizations.
  • Track record in delivering data & information risk initiatives and governance.
  • Excellent communication skills for executive audiences.
