Overview

In this role you will lead electrical and ICA design for water and wastewater projects, spanning small upgrades to multi-million-pound schemes. You’ll join a multidisciplinary team within the Water Solutions group and work on long-term UK programmes across AMP8/AMP9. You will collaborate with Tier 1 contractors and utility clients to deliver high-quality design, feasibility studies, and construction support. The position offers long-term growth, impactful projects, and a focus on water resilience and environment-friendly outcomes. You will drive technically sound solutions that support communities and infrastructure reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Design and review electrical and ICA deliverables, including calculations, drawings, and technical reports for water infrastructure and treatment projects
  • Lead delivery stages from feasibility through detailed design to construction/commissioning support
  • Maintain high technical quality, contribute to bids, and sustain client relationships
  • Manage project budgets, programmes, and quality, while supporting scheduling
  • Mentor junior staff and oversee the work of others

Key requirements

  • BEng or MEng in Electrical Engineering
  • Progress towards Chartered Engineer status
  • Experience in design of water and wastewater deliverables preferred but not essential
  • Strong problem-solving capability and ownership of technical issues
  • Ability to produce design deliverables and coordinate/check others’ outputs
