Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer

Overview

You will join our Cambridge office to deliver civil infrastructure projects from UK to global scales. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and ensure delivery to budget, programme, and technical standards. You’ll work on concept studies through to construction drawings, influencing planning submissions and approvals. This role offers hybrid working, targeted development, and exposure to large, high-profile projects that shape development and infrastructure. You will have a clear impact on project outcomes while mentoring others and coordinating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support to a team of technical staff
• Lead or contribute to client engagement and stakeholder management
• Liaise with internal and external multidisciplinary teams
• Manage project delivery to budget, programme and standards
• Deliver concept studies and progress to planning approvals and construction drawings
• Contribute to development projects across sectors and manage multiple client accounts
• Active involvement in design reviews and coordination across highways, drainage, utilities, and planning teams

Key requirements

• Experience in highway design, drainage strategy and design, flood risk assessment and management
• Knowledge of hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnics, and building structures
• Ability to produce infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations and drawings
• Familiarity with design codes (Water UK, SBD, Manual for Streets, Local Authority Guidance) and contract documentation
• Experience liaising with clients, authorities and co-professionals for approvals and agreements
• Understanding of planning, design, consents processes and adoption of sewers, SuDS, highways and utilities
• Postgraduate experience and nearing Chartership or equivalent commercial responsibility
• Experience using InfoDrainage, Civils 3D and/or PDS
