Employment Associate / Senior Associate – Bristol – 4+ PQE

Overview

In this role you join a respected national law firm’s Employment, Pensions & Immigration team in Bristol to handle a diverse mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. You’ll work across sectors including government, health, and higher education, advising on restructures, TUPE, and employment due diligence, while also training colleagues and supporting business development. The role emphasizes independent and collaborative delivery in a high-performing environment, with opportunities to mentor juniors and shape policy drafting.

Responsibilities

• Manage contentious and non-contentious employment matters
• Advise on restructures and redundancy processes
• Handle employee relations issues, including settlement negotiations
• Manage complex litigation and advocacy work
• Advise on TUPE, including drafting/negotiating warranties and indemnities
• Support corporate and commercial transactions with employment due diligence
• Draft and review employment policies
• Deliver training and contribute to business development
• Supervise and mentor junior colleagues

Key requirements

• 4+ years PQE in employment law
• Broad employment experience across one or more key markets
• Strong technical and drafting skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Confidence in managing complex matters independently and as part of a team
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Motivation, organisation, and a proactive mindset
• Experience in client relationship management and business development
