Overview

In this role you lead the UK&I and Nordics & Baltics accounting functions, ensuring US GAAP and local statutory compliance while safeguarding the integrity of financial records. You partner with senior management to inform decision making and drive cross-functional collaboration across markets. You will manage a multi-location accounting team, oversee tax and audit activities, and steer process improvements and controls. This is a strategic, business-facing role that shapes financial operations in a scalable, compliant way.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure financial records meet US GAAP and local statutory regulations on a timely, accurate basis
  • Lead month-end close, tax compliance (Excise, VAT), and statutory audits
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and explain fluctuations
  • Own rebates processing and collaborate with Commercial/GBS Pricing to ensure accurate accruals and rebates analytics
  • Prepare and maintain SOX narratives for key processes
  • Partner with GBS CCCA and ITP Process Leads to ensure timely reporting and issue resolution
  • Coordinate with Tax Manager on HMRC due diligence, SAO attestation, RACM maintenance
  • Lead statutory audit coordination across UK teams and respond to inquiries
  • Serve as a key member of the UK extended leadership team and communicate financial data clearly
  • Assist in developing new procedures and internal controls aligned with corporate policies
  • Oversee organizational training on accounting topics and promote policy awareness
  • Provide leadership and coaching to accounting/GBS teams for growth and efficiency
  • Identify and implement process improvements, in collaboration with IT to digitize workflows
  • Participate in major projects (RTC, Tax Strategy, Treasury, Transfer Pricing) requiring high-level analysis and change management

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • ACCA, CPA or UK CIMA (or similar)
  • Experience in accounting roles with team leadership
  • Strong people leadership and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and prepare workpapers
  • Adaptability to internal/external changes and independent work
  • Ability to manage high-volume workload and meet deadlines
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Ability to identify process gaps and drive improvements
