Overview
In this role you lead electrical design for your own schemes from concept to detail, including specifications, client meetings, and on-site presence to ensure decisions are built. You’ll work within the Cambridge-based building services team of a global engineering consultancy, collaborating with nearby discipline leads for second opinions and benefiting from a long-term career path within the firm. The projects span labs, science campuses, education, and civic work, demanding high-quality, resilient electrical strategies.

Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design from concept to detail on individual schemes
- Prepare specifications and coordinate technical deliverables
- Run client meetings and present design decisions
- Maintain on-site presence to verify construction against design
- Collaborate with discipline leads for peer review
- Engage with projects across laboratories, education, and research facilities
- Develop resilient electrical strategies for labs and research environments
- Support hybrid working arrangements and interface with the Cambridge hub
- Contribute to project lists and maintain design quality standards
