Overview
As a WIP Stock Controller in pladis’ global supply chain, you ensure WIP trays and stock across sites are available and accurately counted to support production plans. You will help prevent stock write-offs while maintaining strong stock integrity and timely reporting. You’ll work across Aintree, Carlisle and other sites to align production, logistics and MRP data, enabling reliable customer service and continuous operations. This is a fast-paced role in a growing company that values collaboration, accountability and practical problem solving to sustain iconic brands.
Responsibilities
- Manage storage of up to 1,500 pallets of WIP trays in the Aintree warehouse
- Conduct weekly stock counts and reconciliations across multiple locations (Aintree, WSF, Carlisle)
- Coordinate weekly delivery of up to 500 pallets to Carlisle without affecting assortments
- Monitor WIP age profile and implement controls to prevent stock write-offs
- Coordinate cross-site activities to mitigate write-offs and investigate stock discrepancies
- Perform root cause analysis for stock write-offs and manage disposal process
- Handle transport ordering for Carlisle, MDC and segregation activities
- Manage pallet ordering and stock levels; resolve booking-in issues
- Produce monthly pallet counts and supply chain reports for governance meetings
- Provide cover for MRP, Labour Management, and Production Recording as needed
- Communicate weekly packaging and ingredient deliveries to site stakeholders
- Maintain WIP stock value and movements between Aintree and Carlisle
- Ensure empty tray availability to support production requirements
- Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Support MDC service requirements through effective transport and stock coordination
- Produce accurate supply chain reporting and KPI updates
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality and hygiene standards
- Operate with minimal supervision in a factory environment
Key requirements
- Experience with SAP for stock management, inventory reconciliation, production reporting or materials planning
- Knowledge of Autostore or similar Warehouse Management Systems
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Office skills
- Experience managing internal and external relationships
- Understanding of manufacturing, warehouse and supply chain processes
- Previous food manufacturing experience desirable but not required
