Consultant in Community Paediatrics

Overview

In this Consultant role, you will provide comprehensive community paediatric care within a dynamic Evelina London team. You will contribute to neurodevelopmental assessments, safeguarding, and broader community services across Lambeth and Southwark. The post offers opportunities to develop additional statutory interests and to work within a supportive NHS environment. You will shape clinical care by leveraging cross-site collaboration and a focus on child health within a leading children’s hospital network.

Responsibilities

• Deliver general community paediatrics aligned with service priorities
• Assess and manage neurodevelopmental concerns and safeguarding cases
• Participate in safeguarding and child sexual abuse rota
• Develop additional interests including Named and Designated statutory roles
• Collaborate across Lambeth and Southwark within Evelina Community Paediatric team

Key requirements

• GMC registration and Licence to Practise
• MRCPCH by examination or equivalent or on Specialist Register / within six months of CCT
• Evidence of CCT in Community Child Health and/or Neurodisability or CESR or equivalent
• Experience with autism assessment and standardized tools
• Extensive safeguarding experience
• Ability to communicate difficult news and manage time/priorities
• Participation in clinical audit/QI and teaching experience
• NHS systems knowledge and cross-organisational collaboration
